Baseball Recap: Half Moon Bay Finds Home Field Redemption Against Aragon

There's no place like home for Half Moon Bay, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Aragon Dons 6-4. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Dons on Tuesday, they had to take a 6-5 defeat.

Half Moon Bay got a great performance from Andreas Hipkins as he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Hipkins is becoming a predictor of the Cougars' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 7-15 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Clark Colucci was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Half Moon Bay's record now sits at 10-15. As for Aragon, they dropped their record down to 8-16 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Half Moon Bay will square off against El Camino at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Colts have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Aragon has already played their next contest (against Non Varsity Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
