Volleyball Recap: Kellenberg Memorial Triumphs

On Saturday Kellenberg Memorial's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against Great Neck North/Great Neck South. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Firebirds have posted since October 1, 2024.

Peyton Gerth paced Kellenberg Memorial's offense, picking up four kills. Gerth got some help from Elizabeth O'Sullivan and her four assists. Finally, Julianna Lucie kept Kellenberg Memorial's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Kellenberg Memorial's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Great Neck North/Great Neck South, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Kellenberg Memorial has already played their next contest, a 1-0 defeat against Tournament Opponent on the 27th. As for Great Neck North/Great Neck South, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Valley Stream Central at 7:00 p.m. on October 24.
