With a playoff win on the line, Sanford rose to the challenge on Saturday. They blew past the Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles 71-42. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won nine contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Sanford didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Colton Reynolds and Colter Canty. Sanford received some extra help from Jd Faucette, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hawkins Flanagan, who threw for 301 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 54 yards. Elijah Martin was another key back, rushing for 97 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

The victory was the eighth in a row for Sanford, bringing their record up to 10-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points over those games. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.

Sanford will take on Akron at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs' defense better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 41.7 points per game this season. Dayspring Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
