Baseball Game Preview: West Prairie Cyclones vs. Macomb Bombers

West Prairie hasn't had much luck against Macomb recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Cyclones will look to defend their home field against the Bombers at 4:30 p.m. West Prairie has given up an average of 15.7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West Prairie is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They came up short against Cuba/Spoon River Valley, falling 13-0.

Meanwhile, Macomb posted their closest win since May 3, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past Canton 7-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bombers.

The team relied heavily on Emmett Beck, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Drew Watson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Macomb was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Macomb's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for West Prairie, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
