Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Tussey Mountain

Tussey Mountain put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Southern Huntingdon County Rockets as Tussey Mountain made off with a 19-1 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Titans also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Landon Myers made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Myers was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Tussey Mountain got a massive performance out of Ben Kormanski, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave Kormanski a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Connor Jones, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs.

Tussey Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .423 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Tussey Mountain's record is now 3-0. As for Southern Huntingdon County, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Tussey Mountain is taking a road trip to face off against Rockwood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southern Huntingdon County, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Forbes Road at 4:30 p.m.
