The Spruce Creek Hawks will square off against the Providence School Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Spruce Creek is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
On Tuesday, Spruce Creek narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Lake Brantley 2-1.

Aubrey Yeary spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Spruce Creek saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Cianciarulo, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Providence School not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8, 2024. They put the hurt on Hilliard with a sharp 8-2 victory.
Elle Burns made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Burns was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sophia Prather was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Summer Stearns, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Providence School lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Spruce Creek's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Providence School, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season.
Providence School's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Spruce Creek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. It's a different story for Providence School, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain Spruce Creek's hitters?
Spruce Creek was able to grind out a solid win over Providence School in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 5-1. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Stallions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
