Jo Byrns never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Kenwood Knights 18-0. With that win, the Red Devils brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.
Ella Arms made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Arms was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Layna Michels was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those runs marked the first that she has scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailee Lemmons, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Jo Byrns always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kenwood only posted an OBP of .222.
Jo Byrns' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Jo Byrns will take on White House-Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kenwood, they will square off against McEwen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
