Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Coventry

Coventry came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the East Granby Crusaders by a score of 39-26. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 40-21 back in January.

Leading Coventry to victory were Reese Jeamel and Hailey Mayo. Jeamel posted 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and six blocks, while Mayo dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards. Mayo has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 11 times she's played.

Coventry's victory bumped their record up to 19-3. As for East Granby, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Coming up, Coventry will challenge Suffield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Suffield has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 180 points over their last three games. East Granby does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
