Football Recap: Riverwood Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Riverwood fell victim to Sprayberry and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Yellow Jackets and fell 49-0. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 77th).

Sprayberry's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ian Hulbert, who rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. That's the most rushing yards Hulbert has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jrue Keeling, who rushed for 84 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Riverwood is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. As for Sprayberry, their record is now 5-1.

After each having a week off, Riverwood and River Ridge will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. As for Sprayberry, they will face off against Creekview at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. The Grizzlies will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Yellow Jackets surely won't give up without a fight.
