Soccer Recap: New Bern Victorious

While New Bern didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Their defense stepped up to hand the Southwest Onslow Stallions a 9-0 shutout on Monday. It was an even better day for Spencer Goodwin as he scored three goals for his team.

New Bern's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Southwest Onslow, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.

New Bern and Southwest Onslow will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Bears will face off against rival South Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Southwest Onslow is set to take on their familiar foe East Duplin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
