Recap: Divine Savior Academy Sharks vs. Ransom Everglades Raiders

The Divine Savior Academy Sharks suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Thursday. They were beaten by Ransom Everglades 54-19. Divine Savior Academy has struggled against Ransom Everglades recently, as their match on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Divine Savior Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Evie Hoppe, who scored six points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Hoppe grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Sofia Mueller, who scored five points along with 14 rebounds.

Divine Savior Academy's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.5 points per game. As for Ransom Everglades, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Divine Savior Academy will face off against Reagan at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Reagan comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last 13 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Ransom Everglades won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Calvary Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Calvary Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday.
