Baseball Recap: Damien Takes a Loss

Los Osos hit Damien with a six-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans fell 9-4 to the Grizzlies. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Grizzlies recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Max Ewers made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Bickham, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Damien's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Los Osos, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

While Damien had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
