Football Recap: Kyden Barker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Clear Falls over Deer Park

Clear Falls lost against Deer Park back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The game between the Knights and the Deer didn't end well, with the Knights falling 49-35.

Clear Falls lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kyden Barker, who threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns. 137 of those passing yards were hauled in by Zach Greer, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Haden Lafrenz went supernova For Deer Park., throwing for 258 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 78 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. John Arthur-French Jr. was Lafrenz's top target, picking up 98 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Clear Falls suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Deer Park, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Clear Falls is set to face off against their familiar foe Brazoswood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 911 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, Deer Park will take on rival Clear Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
