Volleyball Recap: Lexington School for the Deaf Gets the Win

Lexington School for the Deaf posted their closest win since September 25, 2024 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Pennsylvania School For The Deaf. That's more bragging rights for the Blue Jays, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (94-90) Lexington School for the Deaf actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 10-25, 25-6, 13-25, 16-14.

Lexington School for the Deaf can attribute much of their success to Soraya Joseph, who had nine aces. Those nine aces gave Joseph a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Skylena Baez, who had five aces, three digs, and one block.

They weren't the only good servers: Lexington School for the Deaf was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 26 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive matches.
