Baseball Game Preview: Jones Fightin' Tigers vs. Wekiva Mustangs

Jones hasn't had much luck against Wekiva recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Jones Fightin' Tigers will square off against the Wekiva Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Jones is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 24th straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They lost 15-4 to Colonial.

Jones saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Malachi Porter, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1. Adam Valme also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Wekiva fell victim to Lake Buena Vista and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Vipers, falling 10-0. The Mustangs' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Jones' defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Wekiva, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Jones has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wekiva struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
