Football Recap: Waggener Comes Up Short

After flying high against Doss last Friday, Waggener came back down to earth. The Wildcats were outmatched by the North Oldham Mustangs and fell 52-21. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Mustangs are ranked 54th).

Waggener dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for North Oldham, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waggener will face off against Breckinridge County at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th. As for North Oldham, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Atherton at 7:30 p.m. on the 31st.
