Soccer Game Preview: South Mountain vs. Skyline

The South Mountain Jaguars will take on the Skyline Coyotes in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Skyline took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on South Mountain, who comes in off a win.

South Mountain headed into their last game having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Higley let them put that streak behind them. South Mountain never let Higley onto the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Jaguars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Skyline's offense. They fell just short of Mountain Pointe by a score of 1-0 on Monday.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for South Mountain, the victory got them back to even at 3-3-1.

South Mountain came up short against Skyline in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, falling 4-2. Can South Mountain avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
