Football Recap: San Luis Obispo Comes Up Short + How To Watch

San Luis Obispo suffered their biggest loss since September 6, 2024 on Friday. They were dealt a 48-7 defeat at the hands of the Templeton Eagles. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.

Zion Hegg threw for 136 yards and one touchdown on only 12 passes. Andrew De La Motte was his top target, picking up 59 receiving yards. On the ground, Jacob Garcia rushed for 68 yards.

Tyler Cunningham continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Templeton, rushing for 222 yards and three scores while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and also catching one TD. With that strong performance, Cunningham is now averaging an impressive 109.4 rushing yards per game. Colby Sims was another key player, picking up 143 receiving yards and one touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for San Luis Obispo and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Templeton, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

San Luis Obispo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 28-23 win against Santa Ynez on the 24th. As for Templeton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 56-31 victory against Nipomo on the 24th.
