Softball Recap: Saegertown Has No Trouble Against Maplewood

It was a proper cat-fight when Saegertown challenged Maplewood on Wednesday. The Panthers blew past the Tigers 7-0. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Hailey Obenrader, who gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Maplewood off the board. Obenrader has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Saegertown saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miley Manning, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Saegertown and bumps their season record up to 9-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Maplewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

As of now, neither Saegertown nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
