Baseball Recap: LaSalle Academy Gets the Win

LaSalle Academy extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Bishop Loughlin. They won by a run and slipped past the Lions 11-10. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Lions on Friday, they had to take a 5-4 defeat.

Allen Guiterrez was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of LaSalle Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-7 when he doesn't). Kerick Tejada was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

LaSalle Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Bishop Loughlin, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

As of now, neither LaSalle Academy nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
