Softball Recap: Stayton's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Stayton extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 11-6 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Cascade Cougars. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cascade fell to 18-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this contest were averaging four runs allowed.

For Cascade's part, Malia Scanlan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Amyah Miranda, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Stayton will face off against rival Sweet Home at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Cascade is set to take on their familiar foe Newport at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Cougars' favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home while the Cubs have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
