Baseball Recap: Lincolnton Takes a Loss

Lincolnton fell victim to Cherryville and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Ironmen, falling 13-0. The Wolves' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Lincolnton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Houser, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Lincolnton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Cherryville, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4.

Looking ahead, Lincolnton is taking a road trip to face off against Newton-Conover at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Newton-Conover's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Lincolnton's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cherryville, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.38 runs per game on average), something Cherryville will no doubt try to take advantage of.
