Softball Preview: DeForest Norskies vs. Madison West Regents

The DeForest Norskies will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Madison West Regents at 5:00 p.m. Madison West took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on DeForest, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, DeForest finally turned things around against Waunakee on Tuesday. DeForest came out on top against Waunakee by a score of 5-2.

Payton Steffen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits.

On the hitting side, Desirae Kallstrom was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Madison West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vel Phillips Memorial.

Madison West saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clara Davel, who went 1-for-4 with a stolen base, a double, and an RBI.

DeForest's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-14. As for Madison West, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.
