Baseball Game Preview: Cherry Hill West Lions vs. Moorestown Quakers

The Cherry Hill West Lions will face off against the Moorestown Quakers at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Cherry Hill West 2.7, Moorestown 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Cherry Hill West is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Seneca just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Eagles. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Lions couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Moorestown didn't have quite enough to beat Shawnee last Thursday and fell 3-2.

Moorestown dropped their record down to 9-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.75 runs. As for Cherry Hill West, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.

Cherry Hill West came out on top in a nail-biter against Moorestown when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Quakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
