Baseball Recap: Bolles Takes Down Bozeman in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Bolles had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Bozeman Bucks with a sharp 17-5 victory on Monday. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Levi Pietschker spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Justin Osborne was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rylan Baker, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Bolles always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bolles' record now sits at 17-9. As for Bozeman, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-5.

Bolles will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bucks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
