Basketball Recap: Fremont Takes a Loss

Fremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the La Porte Slicers, falling 76-56. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Slicers are ranked 105th).

La Porte found their leader in sophomore Griffin Ott-Large, who went 8 for 11 on his way to 20 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Nic Spence, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Fremont's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for La Porte, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.

Fremont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 76-56 loss against Laporte on the 27th. As for La Porte, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Goshen at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
