Baseball Game Preview: Harrison Panthers vs. Mesa Ridge Grizzlies

Harrison is 1-9 against Mesa Ridge since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Panthers will host the Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. Harrison has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Harrison is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Widefield, falling 11-4.

Harrison saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Richard Galarza, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. AJ Mills was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, Mesa Ridge fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Canon City on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 5-2 to the Tigers. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brandon Bittner was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ozcar Walker, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Harrison's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Mesa Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Harrison was able to grind out a solid victory over Mesa Ridge when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 14-10. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Grizzlies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
