Football Game Preview: Huntingtown Hurricanes vs. North Point Eagles + How To Watch

Huntingtown hasn't had much luck against North Point recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hurricanes will venture away from home to square off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Huntingtown sitting on four straight wins and North Point on 14 (dating back to last season).

Huntingtown proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 42) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past St. Charles 19-16. The 19-point effort marked the Hurricanes' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Huntingtown relied on the efforts of Dominic Hickman, who rushed for 71 yards and one score, and Gabriel Copeland, who rushed for 103 yards on only 13 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Huntingtown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 217 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 200 rushing yards in 12 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, North Point got themselves on the board against Thomas Stone on Thursday, but Thomas Stone never followed suit. They blew past the Cougars 35-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland football rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Cougars are ranked 157th).

Huntingtown's record now sits at 4-1. As for North Point, their record is now 5-0.

Huntingtown might still be hurting after the 24-0 defeat they got from North Point in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can the Hurricanes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
