Football Game Preview: Elgin Maroons vs. Streamwood Sabres + Official Tickets

The Elgin Maroons will head out to take on the Streamwood Sabres at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Elgin will be strutting in after a win while Streamwood will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Elgin got the win against Larkin by a conclusive 43-21. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Maroons.

Jacob Rufino had an outrageously good game as he threw for 243 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt. Jamiere Moore was in the mix too, providing Elgin with two scores.

Elgin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Nenor Oshana, Jiyion Holmes, and Jeremiah Seward picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 49 points the game before, Streamwood was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They took a blow against South Elgin, falling 49-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Sabres were not able to get on the board.

Elgin's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Streamwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Elgin couldn't quite get it done against Streamwood in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 13-0. Can the Maroons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
