Baseball Recap: Phillips Academy Comes Up Short

Phillips Academy might've scored the first runs on Saturday, but it was Worcester Academy who claimed the real prize. The Big Blue fell just short of the Hilltoppers by a score of 6-5. The Big Blue have struggled against the Hilltoppers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Matt Ulicny and Matthew Shampine stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ulicny went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI, while Shampine went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Owen Prior also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Phillips Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Worcester Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Phillips Academy will face off against Governor's Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Worcester Academy, they will welcome Austin Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
