You might not recognize the power rankings this week after a busy last week rearranged the teams a whole lot. A special shoutout goes to Bozeman's senior Kris Brown, who scored six total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Flathead's 34 - 31 win over Sentinel last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Blake Counts. Counts ran for 276 yards and also punched in three touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Counts as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
On paper, the match between Bigfork (3rd in the power rankings) and Lincoln County (8th) looked as though it might be one of the more compelling ones, but things did not play out that way on the field. Everything went Bigfork's way against Lincoln County as it secured a 37 - 0 win. Lincoln County had come in flaunting an aggressive defense allowing an average of only 6.33 points per game, but that obviously didn't scare off Bigfork.
No Stoppin 'Em
Frenchtown managed to bank 212 more yards than its opponent Browning last week, and going the extra distance paid off. Frenchtown had all the answers against Browning, winning 56 - 26. Frenchtown found its leader in an underclassman: Jace Klucewich rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns, which was enough to make him one of the team's best players. At 82 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Laurel (12th in the power rankings) and Belgrade (9th). This will be the second consecutive road game for Belgrade. Only one team will win this week, so we'll see which team fails to repeat its success.
