Whiting came tearing into Saturday's match with eight straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Hammond Central Wolves 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 2nd.

Sophia Perez was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last five contests.

They weren't the only good servers: Whiting was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in nine consecutive matches.

Hammond Central's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rosalinda Cisneros, who had six digs and two aces. Cisneros has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

Whiting's record is now 14-3. As for Hammond Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

Whiting wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Marquette Catholic on the 25th. As for Hammond Central, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against River Forest on the 22nd.
