Monarch and Boulder are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Coyotes will venture away from home to face off against the Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Monarch has given up an average of 13.5 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monarch had taken Fairview down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Coyotes came up short against the Knights, falling 11-4. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Blake Thompson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Dominic Cortez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Boulder didn't have quite enough to beat Skyridge on Saturday and fell 7-6.

Boulder saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Bagnall, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI. Maks Matheson was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Monarch's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Boulder, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Monarch has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. However, it's not like Boulder struggles in that department as they've averaged .456. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Monarch came out on top in a nail-biter against Boulder when the teams last played back in March of 2025, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Coyotes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
