Basketball Game Preview: Sterling Jets vs. Freeman Falcons

Sterling hasn't had much luck against Freeman recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Sterling Jets will square off against the Freeman Falcons.

Sterling is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Tri County on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Sterling had to suffer through a 64-24 loss at the hands of Tri County. The Jets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-10.

Despite their defeat, Sterling saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Owen Uher, who posted eight points, was perhaps the best of all.

Meanwhile, Freeman entered their tilt with Johnson-Brock on Thursday with seven consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with eight. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 54-48 W against the Eagles.

Freeman pushed their record up to 20-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.1 points over those games. As for Sterling, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-16.

Sterling was taken down by Freeman 59-18 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Sterling avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
