Morning Star Academy and Unity Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2023, but not for long. The Mustangs will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Unity Christian will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Morning Star Academy extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Mustangs simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Galesburg Christian 52-12. 52 seems to be a good number for the Mustangs as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Violet Jewell was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Addison Smith, who posted 11 points and four steals.
Morning Star Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Unity Christian hadn't done well against Faith Christian recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Tuesday. The Knights really took it to the Falcons for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-26 victory.
Morning Star Academy better keep an eye on Emily Merema. She was instrumental in Unity Christian's win, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Merema is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played dating back to last season. Julia Van Kampen was another key player, going 5-for-12 en route to 10 points and six steals.
Morning Star Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Unity Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Morning Star Academy strolled past Unity Christian in their previous matchup back in February by a score of 43-29. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
