Lutheran South Academy came tearing into Thursday's match with six straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Second Baptist Eagles by a score of 3-1. The Pioneers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Lutheran South Academy was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-19, 23-25, 25-18.

Lutheran South Academy was led to victory by Charlie Marsico and Julia Carpentier. Marsico had 16 digs and three assists, while Carpentier had 13 digs and two aces. Those 13 digs gave Carpentier a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Lutheran South Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matchups.

Lutheran South Academy's win bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Second Baptist, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
