Preview: Lawrence Tigers vs. White Pigeon Chiefs
The Lawrence Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the White Pigeon Chiefs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lawrence focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Lawrence didn't have too much trouble with Bangor at home as they won 62-46. 62 seems to be a good number for Lawrence as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Lawrence relied on the efforts of Ben McCaw, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Christian Smith, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Noel Saldana was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, White Pigeon didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Cassopolis on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 52-46 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for White Pigeon.
Lawrence has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season. As for White Pigeon, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
Lawrence lost to White Pigeon on the road by a decisive 65-48 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Lawrence avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
