Baseball Recap: Santa Fe South Takes a Loss

Santa Fe South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Elgin Owls, falling 15-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Owls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 last Monday.

Santa Fe South saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Javier Duran, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Santa Fe South's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Elgin, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Santa Fe South will face off against Putnam City at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Putnam City has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.08 runs per game on average), something Santa Fe South will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Elgin, they will challenge Shawnee at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Shawnee has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.9 runs per game on average), something Elgin will no doubt try to take advantage of.
