Football Recap: Whitewater Wildcats vs. Trinity Christian Lions
If Trinity Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Whitewater, they should've done a better job of containing Case Roberts. The Wildcats walked away with a 40-28 win over the Lions on Friday with plenty of help from Roberts, who rushed for 145 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 86 yards.
Whitewater didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mark Williamson and Chase Davenport.
Trinity Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Peyton Echols and Ashton Clare. Echols picked up 157 receiving yards and one score, while Clare threw for 270 yards and a pair of TDs. With that strong performance, Echols is now averaging an impressive 107 receiving yards per game.
