Baseball Recap: Mcloughlin Extends Winning Streak to Four

McLoughlin proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Umatilla Vikings. The Pioneers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

The victory was the fourth in a row for McLoughlin, bringing their record up to 5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Umatilla, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. McLoughlin is set to square off against their familiar foe Nyssa at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Umatilla will challenge rival Vale at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
