Football Recap: Hartfield Academy Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hartfield Academy can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 50-14 loss at the hands of the Jackson Academy Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hawks have suffered against the Raiders since September 15, 2017.

Jackson Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaric Beasley, who rushed for 142 yards and three TDs on only 15 carries. Beasley's longest rush was for an impressive 58 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Josef Walker, who rushed for 70 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries.

The defeat snapped Hartfield Academy's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-6 record. As for Jackson Academy, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
