Basketball Recap: Kinley Painter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Providence Academy over Concord Christian

Providence Academy lost against Concord Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Providence Academy fell to the Concord Christian Lions 48-43. The game marked Providence Academy's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Providence Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kinley Painter, who posted 11 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Painter has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Myla Johnson, who scored 11 points and seven boards.

Providence Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Concord Christian, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Providence Academy and Union County will compete for holiday cheer at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Concord Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 81-32 victory against First Baptist Academy on the 16th.
