CONIFER, Colo. -
Conifer (Colo.) captured the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for a 38-31 victory over
Northridge (Greeley, Colo.) on Saturday. The Lobos captured the lead for good when
Matthew McClintock ran for a touchdown.
The Lobos led 24-14 at halftime, but the Grizzlies recaptured the lead on a touchdown with under a minute left in the third. Conifer finally took the lead for good as McClintock ran for a touchdown with 3:00 remaining in the fourth quarter.
By the end of the third, CHS found itself trailing by 1 point as Northridge captured the lead thanks to three scores in the quarter. NHS scored on a field goal by Czapenski, a
Brenden Fulton touchdown pass to
Blake Karlin and a touchdown pass by Fulton to
Brad Marx in the quarter.
Fulton played well for the Greeley school. The sophomore threw three touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to four on the year.
The Lobos' standout player in the win was
Aj Eleniewski. The junior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 14 touchdowns on the season.
The loss comes after Northridge defeated Skyline 33-23 last week. With the win Conifer extended its winning streak to four games.
