Basketball Recap: Glen Iris Baptist Snaps 12-Game Streak of Wins at Home

It was a good run, but Glen Iris Baptist unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took an 87-83 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Central HomeSchool Patriots. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (78), the Swordsmen still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Glen Iris Baptist lost, don't look at Joshua Everett. Despite the final result, he went 15 of 24 on his way to 42 points in addition to six assists and three steals. Everett is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Elliot Dickey, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds.

Greyson Boyd continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for East Central HomeSchool, going 12 for 29 en route to 43 points and five boards. Those 43 points gave Boyd a new career-high. Knox Cooper was another key player, going 9 of 14 on his way to 18 points along with five assists and three steals.

Glen Iris Baptist's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-2. As for East Central HomeSchool, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Glen Iris Baptist and East Central HomeSchool should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Glen Iris Baptist (ranked 94th) will meet Marshall Christian Academy (ranked 420th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Glen Iris Baptist will be looking to keep their 12-game home win streak dating back to last season alive. Meanwhile, East Central HomeSchool will take on Tuscaloosa Home Educators at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday up 183 places (167 vs. 350). Glen Iris Baptist is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.
