Basketball Recap: Philomath Skates Past Newport with Ease

Philomath won the last time they faced Newport and things went their way on Thursday too. The Philomath Warriors blew past the Newport Cubs, posting a 52-15 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 26 points or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Philomath and bumps their season record up to 15-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.5 points over those games. As for Newport, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
