Baseball Game Preview: Holland Christian Maroons vs. West Ottawa Panthers

For the second straight game, Holland Christian will face off against West Ottawa. The Maroons will take on the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Saturday, Holland Christian came up short against West Ottawa and fell 4-1.

For West Ottawa's part, Collin Roelofs looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Roelofs also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Panthers are undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 6-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Solomon Wegmeyer, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Dylan Vruggink, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

West Ottawa now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Holland Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
