Football Game Preview: Crosby Cougars vs. Friendswood Mustangs + How To Watch

The Crosby Cougars will head out to take on the Friendswood Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Friendswood took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Crosby, who comes in off a win.

Crosby took a loss when they played away from home on September 12th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Pasadena 69-6. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cougars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 377th, while the Eagles are ranked 1027th).

Lott Robison continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 215 yards and five TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (157.9). Nehemiah Jordan did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 38 receiving yards.

Crosby's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Cade Wainwright with two sacks. Crosby received some extra help from Sirr Soileau, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, Friendswood played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 57-21 defeat at the hands of La Porte. The Mustangs were down 50-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Crosby's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Friendswood, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Crosby strolled past Friendswood in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 28-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
