Soccer Game Preview: Berkeley vs. San Ramon Valley

The Berkeley Yellowjackets will square off against the San Ramon Valley Wolves at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Berkeley took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Hayward a 6-0 shutout. The contest marked the Yellowjackets' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Meanwhile, San Ramon Valley's and Northgate's game on Thursday was close at halftime, but San Ramon Valley turned on the heat in the second half with four goals. Everything went San Ramon Valley's way against Northgate as San Ramon Valley made off with a 5-2 win. Winning may never get old, but Wolves sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

They hit Northgate with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Omar Saifan (2), Matthew Stern (2), and Sam Turner.

San Ramon Valley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three matches. As for Berkeley, their win bumped their record up to 3-1-1.

Berkeley took their victory against San Ramon Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Berkeley repeat their success, or does San Ramon Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
