Football Recap: Heritage Academy Gateway Comes Up Short

After soaring to 32 points the game before, Heritage Academy Gateway was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were beaten by the AZ Compass Prep Dragons 63-0. The Heroes lost against the Dragons in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 42-32 score last time.

Tyler Lines threw for 40 yards while completing 75% of his passes. On the ground, Stratton Ellsworth rushed for 30 yards.

Leading AZ Compass Prep to victory were Carston 'Diesel' Robinson and Tray Parson. Robinson threw for 132 yards and five touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes, while Parson rushed for 75 yards and a pair of scores. Parson also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Heritage Academy Gateway's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for AZ Compass Prep, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Academy Gateway will take on Heritage Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for AZ Compass Prep, they will head out to take on Mission Heights Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
