Damien is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Rancho Cucamonga a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Damien Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rancho Cucamonga Cougars at 4:45 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Damien came up short against Los Altos on Thursday, falling 3-0.

While Damien was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Los Altos' winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-20, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Rancho Cucamonga suffered their biggest loss since April 18, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Chino Hills. The shutout was out of character for the Cougars seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Chino Hills scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-17, 25-22.

Damien's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Rancho Cucamonga, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10.
